GRAVE OF THE FIREFLIES is Drowning in Agony

A movie that has many positive reviews is Studio Ghibli’s GRAVE OF THE FIREFLIES.

It could have been one of those beautiful painful movies if not for its overly dramatic storytelling. The physical journey was there but its emotional counterpart was absent. Nothing but a flat heavy sentiment of how dreadful the life is. It was drowning in agony!

My biased sentiment — maybe, it could have been a more engaging film if their resident director Hayao Miyazaki directed it.
